We returned to inside worship services on Sunday, July 5th but will offer occasional outdoor worship celebrations and continue to live stream the service on our youtube channel for those at home.
I understand there are some very different ideas on how we should move forward as a church. Some want us to remain meeting outside. Others would have liked to begin indoor worship weeks ago. Some don’t really know what is the best course of action. What we all have in common is that we want to faithfully answer God’s call and do our best to care for each other.
Our decision to move indoors is not one based on convenience, politics, or proving a point. A majority of folks want to return to a worship experience that helps us best both commune with our God and do so directly beside brothers and sisters in Christ. We don’t want anyone to feel left out, left behind, or pushed to the side. We know it is not ideal, but we will continue to livestream our worship celebration on our YouTube channel at 11am on Sunday morning.
If you choose to worship inside with us, be sure we are going to do our best to keep everyone healthy. If you choose to worship from home, whether you are concerned for your own health or the health of those you love, we completely support your decision. If you are unsure, we encourage you to pray about it – listen to the guidance of the Holy Spirit and not all the other voices around us telling us what we should do. And through this all of us will trust in the grace and mercy and love of our God together.
One day, when we are far enough past this virus, God will give us the gift of once again all joining together in person to come before Him as His people have done for thousands of years – rejoicing in the presence of our God and His assembled family. For these current days, we look forward to worshipping alongside you in whatever way each of you can participate as we continue to be His church.
“The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace.” – Numbers 6:24-26
Again, If you know of a need, please contact the church at 315-458-5824 or email Pastor Matt at firstname.lastname@example.org. We will remain in prayer for our world and trust in the love and faithfulness of our God. May God bless you and keep you all.
